9/11 remembrance on art hill

with all the success and brilliance of our US history, there are dates throughout each year that we remember the dark clouds that have passed over us as well. September 11, 2001 is one of them.

when i was a kid, i remember my mom saying, everyone remembers where they were the day that JFK was shot. i remember being oblivious to the magnitude of that statement. i suppose, for my generation, that unforgettable moment was the day the world trade buildings fell in new york, the pentagon was hit and a plane went down in shanksville pennsylvania as the passengers attempted to take back their hijacked plane.

it was a long and heartbreaking day that millions of us will never forget.

one this 13th anniversary, i had the honor of being on art hill and photographing a touching memorial. we lost a lot of brave and valiant people on that date--people like you, people like me. it was the date the flag of our United States of America took on a whole new meaning for me.

this is what i saw on 9/11/14.
